Ubuntu, OpenVPN & the need for an Easynews CA certificate
(too old to reply)

I have tried setting up the Easynews VPN using Ubuntu and
OpenVPN using your install instructions however there is no
mention of an Easynews CA certificate being required but
without this it is not possible to save the OpenVPN setup.

I have noticed that IPvanish uses pretty much the same setup
as you do for their Ubuntu OpenVPN setup instructions and
they DO include a CA certificate (ca.ipvanish.com.crt) as
being required.

So is there an Easynews CA certificate to be found somewhere
or is there something else I am doing wrong?

Thanks

Hello,

You can find the certificate (vpn.crt) you're looking for in the archive
of OpenVPN configuration files in the account section
(https://www.easynews.com/vpn/software/en_configs.zip) of the website.
I'll take a look at the configuration guide on the website and have
changes made to better reflect this information. Thanks for bringing
this to my attention. Let me know if you have any other questions.
